I've been using this facial product for about 2 months that my dermatologist recommended. It's been working fine, but now I think my skin is getting used to it and I'm starting to break out again. I want to switch to Neutrogena products. Will that irritate my skin or give me more breakouts at first? Or will my skin get used to it right away?
Also, what Neutrogena product should I use? The tone, cleanser, or scrub? What's the difference? My skin gets really oily and occasionally breakouts and also, I have really big pores. What happens if I switch facial products?
It takes 4 - 6 weeks to really know if something is going to work for your skin. Because you have already established a relationship with your dermatologist, you should be able to call and ask him/her some questions about your current situation without an appointment.
Are they treating you topically (on the skin), or also from the inside? I would highly recommend Arbonne's Clear Advantage Acne line - it's a cleanser, toner, and lotion. It also comes with a supplement/vitamin you take 2 times daily. The vitamin begins to heal your skin from the inside out and pushes the toxins to the surface. Your skin will get worse before it gets better - but you are really treating the problem internally. Arbonne's products are made from botanicals/ herbs. There is no mineral oil which tends to clog pores, and no animal products/by-products. They also have a 45 day money back guarantee.
A cleanser is going to wash your skin - a toner will restore your pH and prep your skin for environment/free radicals, and a scrub would probably not be a great idea if you have acne - I would consider a masque instead. What happens if I switch facial products?
it depends what on what type of skin you have.
